Blogger's Day Out at Cutting Edge Stencils

Share It:
On Friday, I was privileged to be included in a group of bloggers from the NYC area for a day at Cutting Edge Stencils!  Not only was I incredibly excited to meet a group of women whose blogs I read daily but I was thrilled to learn more about a product from a brand I trust and know.

Kelly at Eclectically Vintage and Miriam at Hometalk worked with Cutting Edge Stencils' CEOs and co-owners, Greg Swisher and Janna Makaeva, to create a day of fun, sharing, and learning. Plus, we walked away with some awesome swag and had first hand tutorials from the creators of the stencils and company. It doesn't get better!

Hi!  I have some blogs that I'd like to share with you!  Each one has great content, lovely pictures, and a nice person behind the name. I hope you'll visit each one and follow them in whatever ways you want! Pin from their blogs, please!

Michelle and Nate are the pair who write this blog. They have all sorts of interesting DIY projects and they have beautiful taste. You have to check out their pretty powder room.  But first, here is a great tutorial they created for making this sewing table. It's so sweet, isn't it?

Table Refinishing, Thanks, and Excitement!

Hi all!  This blog post is going to be all over the place  but with all good things!  First, I am meeting some local bloggers for a day of DIY, lunch, and blog chatter. I am so excited!  This is my first blog get together and I must admit I am a tad nervous!  What if I'm the only one without a rolled flower necklace or homemade infinity scarf?  Yikes.  I'll bring my camera though and hopefully I'll have pictures to share!

Zucchini Bread Recipe

Share It:

I was walking through the supermarket yesterday. They had some slim zucchini on the old vegetable sale rack for a few cents so I decided this would be a good weekend to bake some of the best zucchini bread known to man. My mom has made this zucchini bread recipe for years and she got it from a friend of hers so I don't know how the recipe originated. But I do know that whenever it gets made, it gets devoured by everyone, including my husband and kids who are not enthusiastic about vegetables in general, let alone baked into a bread.

I'm having a blog block

I started this blog as a hobby, something to do. And to be honest, I'm feeling empty lately!  I have ideas but haven't implemented anything. I don't have any great projects to show, no fabulous rooms, nothing. I hate feeling like this but I just don't know what to blog about lately.  What's been going on here?  Ellie is not happy about pooping, Molly's behavior in school has improved to near perfect levels, Jim is working hard, my house is a mess, I'm trying to lose weight,  I have been subbing here and there, Pixie needs a haircut.

Big whoop. Why can't I feel jazzed lately?  How do you snap out of a lull?  Or do you ever even get lulls? I'm lulling.

I don't even have much to say on this subject!  Guess I'll go back  to watching How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.

Maybe this weekend will inspire me and I'll be overflowing with interesting things to write about. But for now, I'm empty!

Cheers!

Cafe Escapes Giveaway!

I am a huge coffee fan. I have several cups a day and always enjoy treating myself to a fancy latte or cappuccino at a coffee house now and then. This is why I was so excited when I was asked to try Café Escapes, a hot drink for a Keurig K-cup brewing system. I could feel like I was in a fancy coffee house in my own home, whenever I needed a pick me up?  Sign me up! And I'm so glad...each flavor I tried was amazing!!

I'm back!

Our hard drive died last week. I was upset because we had been talking about getting a back up system forever but never did it. So every picture I ever took since Ellie has been born is on that computer's hard drive. Jim was pretty sure we lost everything. Before I allowed myself to freak out I told him that nope, that wasn't going to be acceptable and he needed to take it to work where magic must happen. And guess what?  IT DID!  I'm not sure how but he and his fellow computer friends managed to move everything from that hard drive to his computer at work. So whew!

One of his computer friends was selling a nifty little tablet/laptop combo thing so we have that now for me to use when he's on the real laptop. It is so cute!  I'm typing on it now. Can you tell?  You could, couldn't you. I know, I'm glowing. HA HA HA!

Ok, so as soon as I figure this thing out I'll be posting all sorts of fun stuff I've been doing!  I refinished our kitchen table, sewed a bunch of stuff, and I am getting a giveaway ready for this week too!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Cheers!

Tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999

Our laptop died last night. It has been a day of mourning around here. Jim had to work today so he hooked up his old computer he built himself when we were dating (let's see, I was about 25 and I'm 29 now sooo, well you do the math.)  It is HUMONGOUS. And slow. And can't handle me uploading all the pictures I've been taking of some projects I'm working on. My blog will be blah for a while. Not sure what his plan is for getting a new one but I'm guessing we will since he works from home as a web developer. sigh.  Just for kicks let's see what pictures are on this hard drive. Hold on.

Yay for Pinterest! I've been a pinning nut lately!  I'm in love with Valentine's Day this year and I am excitedly pinning everything Valentine's Day I can find.  You can check out my pins here.  But I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

To get us in the mood around here, the girls and I baked heart shaped sugar cookies using our favorite recipe.
