Last Minute Easter Art

Share It:
I didn't really decorate for Easter this year. I just never found the time to dig through our stuff in the basement to find a few bunnies and whatnot. However, I started feeling like I wanted to do something to decorate. I headed over to The Graphics Fairy and found some sweet vintage Easter images.

Spring Mantel (Seasonal Decor)

Share It:
Did you have a good weekend?  I hope so!  We've been busy getting ready for spring around here although you wouldn't know it based on our weather reports. But it hasn't stopped me from decking out our mantel in some pretty springy things.  I went simple, very simple, and I'm glad! I used the spring wreath I showed you last week, some milk glass, white candles, and a garland I made from some old chandelier crystals.  So sparkly when the sun hits!

Dollar Store Craft Bonanza!

Share It:
Do you use the word "bonanza" ever? Me neither but that's exactly what has been happening around here!  I went  to my local dollar store (Dollar Tree) and they had a bountiful bevy of fun crafting stuff. I went hog wild with my $20!  Want to see?  This was my loot:

Peony Spring Wreath (Spring Decor)

Share It:
I find March to be an extremely long and hard month to live through. The weather stinks. It feels as if spring will never come and I start trying to usher it in a little by lightening up some decor around the house.  This year I made a new spring wreath decorated with fabric peonies, burlap, and a little nest of eggs waiting to hatch (not really because they are plastic but well, go with it). It has helped me wade through this windy, rainy, gray month!

How to Make and Freeze Meatballs

Share It:

One of my earliest memories is standing next to my mother early on Sunday mornings as she mixed up meatballs and made the pasta sauce for our traditional Sunday pasta dinner. Dinner, mind you, that was eaten at 1:00 PM.  If you ever sat behind us in church, you no doubt smelled the onions and garlic on my mom. She always smelled savory in church.  I don't carry on the Sunday pasta tradition but I do make my own sauce and meatballs just as my mama taught me!  I'd love to pass on our family recipe to you now so today I'm going to show you how to make your own meatballs and how to freeze them so you can take out 1 or 20...however many you need.

FolkArt stencils

Share It:

I am so excited to share my latest project using  FolkArt stencils!  Ellie had this little white table next to her dresser that has always bugged me. It's just white and blah so when I had the opportunity to use some great crafting supplies from Plaid, a name I know and trust for crafting, I couldn't wait to begin!

20 St. Patrick's Day Ideas

Share It:
We haven't celebrated St. Patrick's Day in our house. I have nothing against the holiday, Ireland, or leprechauns. It just wasn't a part of either of our homes growing up so we forget it's even a holiday now that we have our own household.  Heavens! You gasp, I know!

Cutting Edge Stencils Visit Part 2: Tips!

Share It:
As I posted about last week, I was privleged to be included in a group of NYC local bloggers who met up at Cutting Edge Stencils and had a great day learning from the creators of the company how to properly use their products. It was so educational and I'd love to pass along some of the tips and techniques they taught us.
