Bust Your Stash! Valentine's Day Heart Garland

Share It:

As I mentioned last week, I am working through my hoard of fabric.
It is taking over my world like The Blob in that crazy movie from the 50s. Any day now, it will just absorb me and everyone around me if I don't do something to control it. Plus, spring is coming and I must make way for new fabric!  Yippee!

I showed you a few stash-busting Valentine's Day projects already like my

Today, I'm going to show you how you can turn your scrap fabric into a sweet heart shaped banner!  It was so easy.

I started with a few of these and sewed matching pairs together just by stitching around the edge, right sides out.

How many pairs of hearts you'll need depends on how long you'd like your banner.

Then I just used my sewing machine to join the hearts together. I ran a simple stitch down two hearts that overlapped and continued sewing hearts until the banner was as long as I needed.

Then, I sewed a piece of ribbon onto each side, again using a straight stitch down.

All done!  And my stash is getting smaller!  Woo Hoo!

Cheers!
