I adore the beach. One of my favorite times of the year is when we take our annual trip to the beaches of North Carolina with my sister and her family. Molly and Ellie spend the week running around with their cousins and I find myself sitting by the ocean reading a cheesy romance. Perfection.

Burlap Fall Wreath

Share It:
Fall is here!!  YES! Hello pumpkin spice everything!  Hello Halloween candy!  Hello mums! Hello new wreath!

I got crafty a few weeks ago and decided to make a new fall wreath. I used up some burlap I had laying around and then just tucked in some clusters of fall foliage, flowers, and glittery acorns, securing everything with the good ole glue gun!

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw my sneak preview of my St. Patrick's Day wreath I made recently.   I am so excited to share it with you because I am happy with how it turned out!

The best part?  The only thing I purchased for it were the sparkly beads and they were on sale. Everything else I had!

If you don't know how to make fabric shamrocks come back later this week when I post the tutorial. It is very easy once you get the hang of it.

I also created a St. Patrick's Day printable poster and cupcake toppers too which you can find HERE.

I was inspired this year to add some real shamrocks to our house. Technically, these are not true shamrocks, I'm told, but Oxalis. They were selling them as shamrocks so that's good enough for me!

Taken with my phone so it's not great.

I am subbing in first grade tomorrow.  That's cool. This is the time of year when jobs start getting posted and I have to decide what I am doing for the next school year. I know I want to be back in a classroom but I really don't know about full-time right now. On the other hand, part-time in public school is about as common as a craft/home blogger that hasn't used chevron or burlap...it just doesn't happen. : )

Cheers!

Valentine's Day Wreath And An Announcement!

Share It:
Valentine's Day is this Friday!  Woo Hoo!  I'm happy because it means we are halfway through February which means we will be closer to spring. Which means, I am still showcasing ways to bust your stash to make way for spring fabric!

I showed you a few projects I created using some of my fabric stash such as my hanging fabric hearts, and scrap heart garland. Today, I'm excited to show you another way to use those little puffy hearts!

10 Unique Valentine's Day Wreaths

Everything is coming up roses!  And hearts and arrows and cupids and YAY for Valentine's Day decorations!  I love all the sweet, springy colors that Valentine's Day brings out. As soon as I'm all done with the heavy and dreary winter, Valentine's Day shows up bringing with it the soft reds, pinks, lavenders, and violets that remind me winter doesn't last forever!   Plus it's fun to incorporate other colors as some of these wreaths prove!

Patriotic Wreath

I love all the patriotic decorations floating around lately, don't you?  I got into the 4th of July action by making a patriotic wreath using red, white, blue, and silver. I love my 4th of July wreath!

Halloween Mantel (Fall Decor)

Share It:
I revamped our mantel this week and added some Halloween decor. I just swapped out some of the standard fall items for more festive and spooky decorations.  I am happy with it but I think I liked my fall mantel wreath better than this one! I made this wreath from tea stained coffee filters and then just tacked on some "bats" I made by tying a basic knot in some ribbon and clipping the ends on an angle.

Fall Mantel (Autumn Decor)

I dolled up our mantel with my newest fall wreath, some white pumpkins, a few candles, and a candy corn garland!  Plus I switched out the candles in my lanterns to be orange and I plan to nest the candles in acorns when I've picked up enough from our driveway. I'm so happy to have fall in full blast around here!
