Fairy Party Pics

I hope you link up your latest and greatest projects here this week!

Molly's 5th birthday party was last week . She invited the girls from her preschool class to our house for a fairy party and I think the little girl inside of me (who begged for a tiara for her birthday so her mom made her older sister make one out of cardboard and tin foil--true story) went nuts!  It was such fun to put together!    I'll make this concise and give more directions in picture captions:

Decorations:  30 balloons hung from ceiling, tulle poufs in various colors, banner that read "Fairy Hollow, " a large fairy painting I got at Home Goods for $22 that was really meant for her room, a fairy house my mother sent as gift, a fairy figurine from the dollar store, pastel colored table cloths, tulle hung from corners to the chandelier, cupcake decorations from Home Goods

Activities:  Colored and glitter stickered fairy wings (bought at Michaels--6 for $2.99) and wands (3 for $1 at the dollar store), hot potato played with a lady bug, freeze dance, run around with your fairy wings in our backyard

Take Homes: wings, wand, party hats, goodie box with a few Tinkerbell candies and a strip of flower stickers

Food:  Vanilla cupcakes (tinted pink), pink lemonade, and pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and sprinkles (magic wands..awww cute)

Molly had such a good time and I'm so glad!

The tulle is wrinkled because it's the same tulle
my mother decorated Molly's bassinet with when we brought
her home from the hospital. And I have one more plan for it
that I am hoping to complete soon!

Aren't these fairies sweet?

Magic wands made from pretzel rods, pink chocolate candy coating stuff, and sprinkles

We layed a large sheet of brown paper over the tablecloths when they
were doing the crafts. Then it was easy to crumple up and toss when it was time
for cake.

Everything is ready and waiting. And it was nice not to have dining furniture in the room
because it gave us plenty of space.

I made this using scrapbook papers and chipboard glittery letters.

This painting is huge and the price was too good to pass up. I originally bought
it for Molly's room but she wanted it to be out for her party too.
I think it was the right backdrop for the desserts!

I had a bunch of poufs and now they are hanging in Molly's room.

Pink lemonade transformed into Pixie Punch.

Hard at work (for aout 30 seconds). I pixalated the other children for privacy.
They aren't my kids to post pics of, know what I mean?  But you can get the idea!

Singing and waiting for cake. They LOVED their party hats!  They were super simple to make.
I had some party hats left over from another year so I covered them with
scrapbook paper using hot glue, then I glued on a crepe paper ruffle on the bottom.
I just ran a tight but long stitch down the center of the crepe paper and it ruffles it. Molly wanted
veils on them so we did that using tulle and then I glued a glittery butterfly or flower on the
back to hide the tulle glue blob.

I edited this photo and made it lighter and brighter. But it wouldn't
load and it kept flipping onto its side. weird.  But there is my birthday girl!
Fairies in the yard

Ellie playing with a balloon.

Favors. I had these boxes left over from my wedding!
I sewed a basting stitch on crepe paper and pulled one thread
to make a ruffle. Then I just rolled it into a flower shape and
hot glued it on top of the box. I wish I had
remembered to take a picture of all of them clustered together.
They were so pretty!

There you have it!  Entertaining in our new home is so much easier than our smaller, cramped first home and both Molly and Ellie had a blast!  The moms were so nice and helpful...overall it was such a lovely party!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Cheers!
Jenny
