Monogrammed Pillow

Share It:
Today Molly told me to stop making so many pillows because there is no place to sit. HA HA HA!  Well if I knew how to sew something else I would!  But for now, it's pillows.  She'll be pleased to know that this one is going on our bed in the master bedroom. So there. nah.

It is made out of a drop cloth that I washed with some bleach to lighten it. I sewed the box pleats from some gray-blue remnant fabric I had and the image is drawn with a Sharpie. I will have a more detailed tutorial this week!  I'm pretty happy with it. It needs more stuffing so I have to open it up and stuff in some more. But otherwise, it's cute and makes me feel happy.

So did I tell you that Jim is getting into DIY decorating too?  Here are his window treatments in our new home!

Ok, he didn't take pictures for a tutorial (he's so green) but I have to admire his use of painter's tape, which not only secures the pieces of paper that used to hold our breakables in the moving boxes, but also lends a little contrast. Breaks up all the beige, don't you think?  Our neighbors LOVE us.   Between that and the giant POD that PODS refuses to pick up for reasons known only to them, I'm sure we have endeared ourselves to the neighborhood in a big way!

In all seriousness, we replaced those, ahem, treatments with matchstick bamboo blinds that look pretty and will look even prettier when we have drapes on either side.

We are having Molly's family birthday party here on Saturday and then her little friends for a fairy party on the following Wednesday so we need to step it up. I need a rug for the living room, a million painting projects to finish, curtain rods to hang, and a million other things. If you feel like coming by with your drill and paintbrush we could use a hand!

Cheers!
Jenny

  14. Pillows are one of my favorite accessories in a house!! Every room needs a few - I will not tell you how many I have on my bed but I will tell you it's more than 5 and less than 25! I LOVE them!! The one you made is fabulous and who would have thought of a sharpie!! That's pure genius!!
