A Few of My Favorite Things

It's rainy and dreary here today.  I feel tired and slow-moving and will probably pour another cup of coffee soon. School started today for most everyone in town but the preschools. Molly will start next week and she (and I) are so ready.   The part-time job search continues and I think I'm just going to call one of those tutoring centers until I can get some subbing in the public schools.

We still don't have a closing date. It's making us all a bit tense and I know the sellers are as anxious as we.   They have been lovely to work with and offered to leave us a riding mower, a television, a gold silk antique chair I was eyeing the whole time anyway, and the kitchen table. How nice!  I picked my paint colors and all we need is to close!

So to cheer myself up I was prowling around the internet and found these darling projects. I tweeted and FB'd the bed project but I love it so much I'm featuring it here too.  I'm always amazed at the diamonds in the rough people are able to see.

Beckie at Infarrantly Creative made this from a door she found on the side of the road. Can you believe it?  Bet Pottery Barn rips her off in their next catalog.

Just Sew Sassy is showcasing this beautiful belt that Staci made from felt. If I had a waist I would totally do this!!  I love the colors and she has great tutorials explaining her process for each kind of flower.

And lastly Evie over at Brown Paper Packages made this old desk into something as sweet as cherry pie!  The top is painted with chalkboard paint and the colors just make it so unique.

So there you go...some things that made me smile.

Cheers!
Jenny
